Why Tanzania? The Launchpad for Change
01.
Nearly 44% of Tanzania’s population is under 15 years old (World Bank, 2023).
02.
Over 13 million children are of school-going age, yet school absenteeism affects nearly 30% of them (Ministry of Education, 2022).
03.
Around 50% of Tanzanians are unbanked, and only about 29% use mobile money (World Bank & GSMA, 2023).
04.
Tanzania has over 9 million children with disabilities, many lacking safety and educational support (UNICEF, 2023).

Addressing Real Challenges
Children with Autism
- Globally, 1 in 100 children has autism (WHO), many at risk of wandering. In Africa, lack of support increases their vulnerability.
Education Access
- Over 80 million African children are out of school, with safety and economic challenges contributing.
Financial Exclusion
- Over 57% of African adults are unbanked; youth under 18 have minimal access to financial services.
Persons with Disabilities
- An estimated 80 million Africans live with disabilities, yet face systemic exclusion from technology and services.
Jali bridges these gaps through inclusive, accessible wearables that integrate safety, education, and financial inclusion.
